ABOUT GLSA

Grandin Lake Shores Association (GLSA), Inc is a 426 Lot community with single family homes and/or woodsy lots.  The Homeowner’s Association (HOA) was formed back in 1960. It is pristinely situated between Grandin and Clearwater lakes. Both lakes are great for fishing and boating including kayaking.  Grandin lake is the larger lake and ideal for water or jet skiing.  Through the canal is the smaller Clearwater lake. It has a 5mph speed limit which makes the 10+ pound bass and other critters very happy. Birdwatchers can enjoy a variety of feathered friends, and nature lovers and big city escapees can take in the laid-back lifestyle.  There is a monthly coffee morning, regular ice cream socials and other activities to help foster fellowship and fun.

The HOA is a deed restricted community allowing site-built homes only. GLSA offers members a private boat ramp, swimming area and club house. The annual dues are a nominal $50 per year.  The original dues in 1960 were $20 per year.  The Covenants and Restrictions as well as the By-laws are not as restrictive as HOAs in larger cities and/or communities.  The goal is a commonsense approach to community living.

This is a golf cart community and has an active yet informal neighborhood watch. Thankfully we have a very low to no crime rate.  GLSA has members and/or their heirs who have lived here since its inception in 1960, and members from a variety of different cities, states and countries.

Most of the roads are dirt roads; however, they are county maintained. The lakes are monitored by the St Johns River Water Management District, the Department of Environmental Protection and the Fish and Wildlife Commission. The wildlife, the beautiful views, the sunrise, the sunset and the moonrise never get old.

GLSA is in West Putnam County just outside the small town of Interlachen Florida.  It is within an hour’s drive to Gainesville and I-75 to the west and to St Augustine and I-95 to the east.  Orlando is two hours south.  You can enjoy country living with easy access to the bigger cities.  West Putnam and Interlachen are growing yet continue to maintain that small town atmosphere.

GLSA has a peaceful and relaxing vibe.  GLSA is a great place to live.
